Horns of the Sun

"Why don't cut through the mountains? It'll save us a couple weeks of travel and we don't have to pay a ship."

"Because you'll be speared to a dead tree in your sleep, that's why."
— Traders planning their route from Spitzenteufel
The Horns of the Sun are the purely Satyr clans of Alqurun, settled in the mountainous areas as well as parts of the coastline.

Notoriously violent to outsiders, the Horns deem themselves the true heirs of the land, biologically superior to all others who cross their path.

Combined with their raiding tendencies, this has left Satyrs with a reputation for violence and racism in the West, regardless of their heritage.

Curiously, the Horns are willing to take in Satyrs regardless of their origin. While not considered "Pure blooded", they are still considered children of the sun.

Culture

Major language groups and dialects

Horns are native Wastelander speakers, although some are also fluent in Germanic from contact with outsiders.

Shared customary codes and values

Anything under the sun belongs to the Horns, and nobody else. Take your inferiority to the grave.
Horns will relentlessly protect their territory from non-Satyrs, as far as pushing into Spitzenteufel territory if their intruders can be chased as far.

Average technological level

Horns are most known for their spear ambushes, but they will make use of any weaponry they can scavenge from their fallen foes. Firearms are a common sight, and more advanced equipment can be spotted on the more successful raiding parties.

The same applies to clan life, as much of their belongings are scavenged rather than crafted beyond clothing.

Ideals

Gender Ideals

Males are considered children of the sun, while females are the children of the moon.

The sun represents a fierce spirit, the mentality of a warrior, and the strength to uphold the clan.
The moon represents cunning, deception, and foresight.

The Horns of the Sun carry these ideals into their gender roles, with open combat being handled mostly by males, with subterfuge and planning for raids handled by females.

Day to day noncombat needs are typically handled by the women of the clan, including leadership, while the men train and scout.
