Lysoth (li ⋅ sˁoθ)
Demographics
As a Githyanki only society, Lysoth had extremely rigid rules and rituals, one of them included the exclusion of any other race from their city. Githyanki society was divided into three main castes. Although rigid, there was the possibility of moving between castes through intense and almost impossible competition. The major caste was the military, followed by the smaller mlar, who were in charge of crafts and specialized tasks, and lastly the g'lathk, who were in charge of food production and labor.
Government
Lysoth is ruled by a monarch known as Fih'zheg, who serves as both the head of state and the head of government. Fih'zheg's authority is absolute, and he is assisted by a small council of advisors and administrators who are responsible for overseeing the various aspects of daily life in the city.
The council is composed of representatives from each of the three main castes of Githyanki society, and they are tasked with making recommendations to the Fih'zheg on matters of policy and governance. However, Fih'zheg has the final say on all decisions and can overrule the council's recommendations at will.
Despite the rigid nature of Githyanki society, Fih'zheg is known to occasionally make exceptions to the rules, particularly for close relatives and friends. This can include allowing them to raise their own children and have a more personal relationship with them, which is typically not allowed in the communal system of child-rearing that is practiced in Lysoth. However, these exceptions are rare and are only made at the discretion of Fih'zheg.
Lysoth intentionally isolates itself from all outside interaction, and Lysoth'i believe they can live a peaceful and happy life in Lysoth without the need to interact with anyone outside. Outside trade is illegal and punishable by banishment. The only outside trade allowed is trade between Lysoth and other Githyanki on the Astral Plane.

Defences
Lysoth is surrounded by a thick, impenetrable wall that is guarded by a well-trained and well-armed army of Githyanki soldiers. In addition, there are several large watchtowers strategically placed throughout the city to provide early warning of any potential threats. The army is highly skilled and equipped with advanced weaponry and armor, and they are known for their fearlessness and devotion to the city. Overall, Lysoth's defenses are designed to prevent any potential threats from entering the city and ensuring the safety and security of the Githyanki.
Infrastructure
Lysoth lies in between three biomes, with each being divided into a caste in the hierarchy. The center and bulk of the town is for residental areas and other necessary parts of their society. The internal parts are listed in the districts section, while the main three parts are:
The desert biome, which is home to the Mlar caste, is where much of the crafting and specialized tasks take place. This includes metalworking, woodworking, and other types of skilled labor. Only the Mlar officials are highly respected for their abilities and play a crucial role in the internal economy of Lysoth, while the rest of the Mlar are seen as beneath the rest of the castes.
The grassy swamp biome is dedicated to the G'lathk caste, who are responsible for food production and labor. This includes farming, animal husbandry, and other agricultural tasks. The G'lathk are highly valued for their ability to sustain the population and provide for their needs.
The mesa biome is where the military caste resides, and it serves as the center of power and authority in Lysoth. The military caste is highly trained and skilled in combat, and they are responsible for protecting the town from external threats and conducting raids on other planes to gather resources and slaves.

Districts
The districts in Lysoth are complex, and each caste has a different district for residential areas. These are the main districts in Lysoth:
The Residential District: This district is where the Githyanki live and includes houses, apartments, and communal living spaces for the various castes. Each household or communal space has a designated leader who oversees daily routines and resolves disputes. The Githyanki do not know their biological parents, but they are raised by their caste and communal leaders.
The Temple District: This district is where the Githyanki practice their religion and worship their gods. It includes temples, shrines, and other religious buildings. Each temple or shrine has a designated priest or priestess who oversees religious rituals and ceremonies.
The Market District: This district is the economic hub of Lysoth and houses the marketplaces, trading posts, and other commercial buildings. The Githyanki come here to buy and sell goods, exchange resources with Githyanki from other planes, and conduct business. Each trading caravan or group has a designated leader who negotiates prices and oversees transactions.
The Administrative District: This district is where the king and his advisors work and includes administrative buildings, council chambers, and other government facilities. The king and his advisors make important decisions about the town's policies and future. Each administrative department has a designated leader who oversees daily operations and implements policies. The Spelljammer Port: This district is where the Githyanki maintain their portal to other planes and their Spelljammer ships. It includes docking facilities, warehouses, and other infrastructure necessary for trade and travel between planes. Each Spelljammer crew or trading group has a designated leader who oversees logistics and operations.
The Hatchery: This district is where the Githyanki lay their eggs and where they are cared for until they hatch. It includes incubation chambers, nurseries, and other facilities necessary for the hatching and care of the eggs. The eggs are collected from the residential district and brought to the hatchery, where they are tended to by designated caretakers. Once hatched, the young Githyanki are raised by the communal and caste leaders in the residential district, with no interaction or knowledge of their biological parents. The Hatchery District is an important part of Githyanki society, as it ensures the survival and continuation of the species.
The Outsiders District: This district is where non-native Githyanki who come to Lysoth are quarantined and required to lay their eggs and raise their young separately from the rest of the population. Non-native Githyanki consider it a privilege to live in Lysoth and raise their young, as time does not pass in the Astral Plane, where they normally reside. The district includes living quarters, a hatchery, and other facilities necessary for raising Githyanki young. However, since they are outsiders, they must pay a hefty fee to be allowed into the district, as well as cover the cost of their quarantine and their young's care. The district is strictly regulated and monitored to ensure that no diseases or other harmful elements are introduced into the population. Once the young Githyanki have matured, the parents normally take their young and leave Lysoth, however the child can choose to stay and be indoctrinated into a caste. The Outsiders District is the exception to the rigid caste system of Lysoth, as it allows non-native Githyanki to participate in the communal raising of young, which is considered a sacred duty in Githyanki culture.
