Graze lands
The emerald fields of the Graze lands are unique as the grass that grows is a deep emerald color contrasted by silver-colored rivers and lakes. Fields and fields of wheat, corn, hay, and other commodities are grown in both large quantity and size. For reasons unknown, the Graze Lands produces at least 50 percent more food in terms of yield and size than those of other farms.
Some attribute it to some of the halflings magics in ages long past, or the tomb of a powerful Medarii is located nearby that influences the growth of the plants. Aside from the sudden flash freeze that happens come winter this land is truly a perfect place to settle down and relax in. That is if you don’t mind the threat of Anrashan raiders, trolls, ettin, and other mountain and water-dwelling creatures looking for an easy meal from the farmers, or their stock. The growing season in the Graze lands is 9 months long, for that entire time, the farms are able to grow their produce which supplies most of Rhyderia, the remaining time the temperature remains mild getting colder in fall and warmer in spring, the sudden cold snap that occurs lasts for a month, it is a hard time for the people of the Graze lands as they do not have a lot of time to adjust to the sudden temperature drop as it can go from the mid-60s to below freezing overnight.
Silber Lake
Silber Lake is where Addersfield gets most of its water and fish supply from, about a hundred feet from the shore the water is crystal clear letting you see the bottom which has silver-colored sediment that gives the lake its name, sadly it is not actual silver but it makes for a unique visual to the lake and adds to the silver theme of Addersfield with the large silver mines they posses.
Misty Mire
The Misty Mire is a swamp on the north shore of Silber lake, there is nothing of any real importance here, which is a relief to the people of the Graze Lands as the swamp is said to be the home of a hag coven that owns the lands of the Mire, they have control of even the roots of the trees that grow there. Most choose not to even think of that area lest they risk angering the coven and be a victim to one of their curses.
Veiled Route
The Veiled route is a treacherous portion of the river with strong rapids and many rocks both sharp and smooth that make boat travel difficult but not impossible. Most prefer to dock on the northwest side of the Silver veil bridge and take the land routes to Addersfield or the other towns and villages in the Graze Lands. The shores of the Veiled route are covered in a mix of smoothed stones, white sands, and smooth natural glass fragments, no one is really sure where the glass comes from though.
Silver veil bridge
The only bridge to connect the two sides of the Graze Lands without having to traverse the Bladeward Mountains to the southeast. Before this bridge was constructed people would have to use boats to cross the lake getting much closer to the Misty Mire than people like to, or traverse up the Veiled Route far enough to find a section of land with access off the shore. This is part of why Tralya was founded in the first place as it is near one such location.
The Quills
The Quills are a series of large hills or small mountains depending on your perspective that has a large population of the rather Avia Scorpius beasts, these large vulture-like birds are equipped with three scorpion style stingers under their tail feathers that use a potent paralyzing poison they inject their victims with before carrying them off to devour later. Their beaks have a pair of mandibles on the side as well making for one hellish mix of vulture and scorpion that has two popular beliefs, they are the result of a sadistic mage combining two creatures that have no business being combined, or they are some hellspawn creature let loose on the world by the profane beings of the hells. The Anrasha are said to use these creatures in slave raids either directly or their poisons. In any case this bit of land is given a wide berth by anyone who can afford to do so.
Blood Wood Briar
The forest to the northwest of Tralya is on paper shared between the Equus Highlands and The Graze Lands but it falls into other jurisdictions of the Graze Lands more often as they have easier access to it than the people of the Equus Highlands do. This forest is made largely of bloodwood trees, which is only part of the reason for the name. Many people believe that because a large battle at the end of the First Era took place here that the many, many bodies that spilled their blood into the land has changed all trees that grow there to even have their wood be as blood. Aside from the trees, there are a great many thorned bushes that are native to the area which makes it difficult to travel through, for most creatures at least. Some with harder hides or no other option make the briars their home, there is a large population of goblins that infest the briars using them as makeshift walls and parts of their traps to stop those who would seek to remove them.
