Alenzeh (aylen-ZEH)

This is the home of fungus. No one is entirely sure why, but mushrooms, molds, and fungi of all descriptions grow prodigiously on this island. There are mushrooms which grow to the size of trees here, and almost every variety of fungus found anywhere else in the world is also found thriving here, no matter how ill-suited a given organism might seem to the temperate environment. It is a tremendous resource for mycologists from the Collegium, but something about the place repels attempts to settle there. Any permanent dwellings set up on the island are rapidly consumed by fungi, though temporary protections like tents are allowed to stay, but only for so long. The only individual ever recorded to have spent more than two consecutive months on the island without some fungal accident befalling her was a particular druid mycologist in Lord Adaris's service, but even she was later subsumed by an arguably sentient variety of cordyceps fungus which had taken root in her brain. Some attribute this to her year-long stay on the island, though the affliction did not take her until many years later.
