Coznir (CAUSE-near)

Coznir is the god of order. Their adherents seek to apply the standards of logic and law to the world around them, and engage in life without increasing entropy if possible. The enforcers of the law, from the High Magistrate of the Imperial Court to the youngest Solarian Guardsman on their first patrol owe fealty to Lady Coznir. Additionally, those who make the laws pay them reverence, as it is Lord Coznir who reminds leaders of their duty to those over whom they rule. In small towns, the temple to Coznir often doubles as a court of law and town hall, and their priests review all legal action that occurs at the King's court.

Divine Domains

Lord Coznir is the god of legislation, leadership, and the duty of a leader to protect and serve those who follow. He encourages the passage of fair laws, reasonable taxes, and logical city ordinances. Lady Coznir is the goddess of law and order, enforcement, and obedience. She insists that her followers obey the laws, the rules of society, and the codes of tradition to the best of their ability at all times. She also encourages those who dedicate themselves to her service to participate in law enforcement, and many members of city guards, local militias, and knights orders are her servants.

Holy Books & Codes

Lord Coznir was the main author of the Code of Common Law, though he was assisted by Qivian and Lord Bavesis. As all law stems from this great original text, tomes containing legislation of any kind are considered part of his holy scripture. Lady Coznir hands down her wisdom through the Writ of Honor, which instructs enforcers of the law in their duty.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

Lord Coznir is represented by a crown enmeshed with a gear, to remind the faithful of the orderly turning of the cogs of reality, and that even kings must follow the law. Lady Coznir is represented by a shield emblazoned with a scepter, or just the shield when embellishments are difficult to create. Her symbols emphasize her focus on the protection offered to citizens who follow the law.

Holidays

On the fifth day of the fifth month, the Day of Law is observed across the Imperium and beyond. The celebration of Coznir's divine will and benevolence is a somber, procedural affair in most households, with prescribed ceremonial gestures, sacrifices, and prayers. It is also a day of thanksgiving for the legislators and law enforcement.
