Pholium

The island of Pholium is the original home of the dragonborn who now inhabit the Empire. Now it is mostly suburban, with pockets of country estates belonging to the oldest and wealthiest families. Its people remain largely dragonborn, though there is a growing population of rich lizardfolk who find the island's climate and culture agreeable. Said culture paradoxically places heavy emphasis on self-sufficiency while embracing a ruling class of individuals whose status is almost entirely inherited. Many of these old-money families justify this by encouraging their children to become experts in one or more arts. The result of this interest in artistic merit is that the island is a hotspot for artists of all varieties, in much the same way as Qivias is for those wishing to become involved in the celebrity or fashion industries.
