Stargarde
The fortified city of Stargarde is the final resting place of dwarven Hero Graneag Forgebrand. Errected on the site of his final battle against the forces of the Far Realm, the city's keep is said to hold the very hammer he used to place the seal on reality in its deepest vaults. Now, its upkeep is a considerable expense to the halfling province of Willingtry, but has been deemed valuable enough as a historical site to be maintained. Additionally, it makes a lovely place to escape the summer heat of the capital. It does draw its fair share of tourism, particularly around the annual celebration of the Hero's death and the end of the Age of Heroes, but the cost of shipping food and materiel (not to mention water, as the well which once supplied the city dried up long ago) up the steep mountainside year-round far outweighs any profit that might be made during the all-too-brief tourist season.
