Empire of Beycillis

The Empire of Beycillis was formally founded after the War of Unity ended, when King Arkan was crowned Emperor.
After Emperor Arkan's death in 1251, his daughter Mariem became Empress. Her rule was short, her nephew Dastál  ascending to the throne one and a half years ago.

Structure

The Emperor/Empress rules over the entire empire and has direkt command over the capital of Beycillis. All other realms are governed by rulers who answer to the Emperor/Empress.

Culture

Since the empire is made up of many smaller realms, it is a hodgepodge of different cultures, many of them bleeding together in areas that used to be fought over a lot, changing sides regularly. The people of the former Kingdom of Beycillis consider themselves more cultured than those of the principalities they conquered while the principalities, especially Moneda and Skander, take pride in their ancient history, not always considering themselves part of the empire.
