Frey
Frey was a Vanir God, who came to Asgard during the exchange of hostages following the Aesir-Vanir War, along with his sister Freya and his father Njord, long before Ragnarok. He never saw himself as an Aesir, whereas his sister adapted well to her change of situation. He was instead gifted the realm of the Alfar by Odin, who worshipped him as their primary diety. As a Vanir, Frey was a God of fertility, mainly known for virility and for the harvest and stayed true to those mandates despite his rule of another realm.
He has a wife, the Jotuness Gerdr, though very little, including her whereabouts, is known about her.
During Ragnarok, he faces off with the fire Jotun Surtr, and is killed by him at the entrance to Muspelheim. What became of Surtr nobody knows for sure; he did not appear on Midgard to bathe the realm in flame when the fighting moved there, but no confirmation was given for his death either.
