Contemplative

This mace is finely crafted, though its style is an older one, with fewer, thicker flanges than modern maces possess. It is obviously enchanted, shining with a faint blood-red glow when viewed in darkness.
Inspecting it with magic reveals runes etched into the flanges designed to bring down giants of any variety, whether troll, ogre, or true giant. Its history is unclear, but its previous wielders apparently had called it by the same name for long enough that it had absorbed that name’s identity: the Contemplative, meant to bring giants to their knees to think upon their sins, before caving their heads in.
It was uncovered in Kenlun by a particularly large vexgit gremlin, who was using it as an unwieldy two-handed club.
