Haunted Span Lair

A mated pair of River Drake have made a lair underneath the ancient bridge stretching across the great river. The bridge seems to be in remarkably good repair for a structure that has likely been standing for centuries, though there is a large amount of sediment built up around its foundations - enough to form sandbars and islands capable of supporting two adult drakes.   The drake's nest lies underneath the western end of the bridge, within less than 100 yards of ruined foundations that were once part of the nearby city. The pungent scent of chlorine mixed with rotting vegetation is most noticeable to any who approach, with just a hint of decaying flesh and offal underlying it.   The nest itself is a collection of river reeds, driftwood, and mud plastered into a loose bowl ten feet wide, big enough for the much larger female drake to rest in. Closer inspection of the nest (provided that the occupants are off hunting elsewhere) reveals bones from multiple large species - aurochs and kozos, primarily, though a small axebeak skull and a few wolf bones can also be found upon a proper search. No human remains are present, though a number of human-crafted objects (a set of bracers and a Key to Jernevar Vault ) have been mixed in with the biological detritus, likely things that the drakes found to be particularly shiny. All the remains have been etched by the drake's acidic spittle.
