A letter to King James II from Erasmus Horthall

A letter to King James II of England written by Illuminati Envoy Erasmus Horthall. It is notable for being the first step in connecting The Known World with the World Beyond The Ice Wall.   The paper itself is immune to flame, and more sensitive information is written in an ink that is incomprehensible to anyone except the intented recipient.

Historical Details

Background

On April 14th, 1686, Erasmus Horthall delivered a letter to King James II confirming the suspected existence of The Ice Wall and the World Beyond, and proposing an expedition, and eventual colonization, of the World Beyond.   The letter was sent alongside an Illuminati-made glitterarm designed to work within the Ice Wall as proof of the Beyond's strangeness.

History

Upon experiencing the World Beyond firsthand, Horthall believed that resources and land beyond should not be kept from the public eye. He sent this letter against the rules and ideals of the Illuminati, and eventually aided in the construction of the Horthall Galleon   Horthall was able to assist the king in the construction of the Horthall Galleon in secret, under the guise of hunting after a R'lyehian entity that only he can see.   Horthall was eventually dismissed from his duties as an Illuminati envoy, and was labelled a high-priority target and effectively exiled from the Known World

Legacy

This letter is often considered the turning point of history between both sides of the Ice Wall. Without it, the vast majority of humanity would never be able to cross to the other side.

Hi Pen et al ! I enjoyed the initial concept that a letter could change history, even if it wasn't widely published. Your description drew me in to follow the links and read more about your world. Well done! A quote from, or an image of the document would be a nice addition. I am curious as to why Horthall needed to deliver a letter: why not just talk to the king? What circumstances surrounded the choice of communication method?
