Gryllosism
The term gryllos (pl. grylloi) refers to a human that has been modified to an extent that should not normally support life, such as the removal of organs or orifices. Despite this, gryllos are able to survive by various strange and often unseen means.
Symptoms
As an umbrella term, gryllosism manifests itself in various forms, including but not limited to:
- Complete torso absense. Limbs and extremeties, if present, are attatched directly to the head
- Absense of a face and/or head. In such cases, any exposed flesh would instead be covered up by skin or replaced with a dark void or object. Consumption of food may no longer be needed if no mouth is available.
- Dismemberment. One more more limbs or parts of the body are separate from the rest of the body. Despite this, any parts can still be moved, and blood still flows to the parts as though they were attached.
- Absense of one or more internal organs. Homeostasis and all bodily functions are maintained regardless.
