The families of tingescrubbers are compensated glamorously. The tingescrubbers themselves are provided with whatever they want as long as it doesn't impede their duties or put others at risk.
Perception
Purpose
While the Tinge itself cannot spread directly across saltwater, the risk of speading across through lifeforms and stray matereals is too high to ignore. Tingescrubbers are assigned a sector of land to a sector of land to survery on a regular basis, and reporting any anomalies. In most cases, these anomalies can be dealt with without any additional hands, but in some cases additional support is required. Support can come in the form of nearby tingescrubbers or militants from beyond the Tinge.
Tingescrubbers can also act as researchers, researching the hostile environment and how it effects life.
Social Status
Becoming a tingescrubber is usually seen as a last resort due to the lifelong nature of the profession. People often become tingescrubbers in desparation, and to provide a stable income for the family they are never allowed to see again.
Operations
Tools
Tingescrubbers are provided with everything required to survive in such a hostile environment. Ranged weapons, such as firearms and glitterarms, are provided, as well as sealed suits designed to maintain a safe atmosphere while exploring the outside.
Food and drinking water is provided, as well as an ample supply of saltwater to resist the Tinge and its mutagenic properties.
Workplace
Tingescrubbers are provided a large concrete bunker located on the Tinge to live in. These bunkers are fit with all the basic amenities an individual would need. The walls of the bunker are lined with saltwater and lead, to keep out the Tinge and psychic intrusion, respectively.
Dangers & Hazards
The mutagenic effects of the Tinge and psychic wind provide a massive danger to tingescrubbers, and it is very rare to find a tingescrubber that hasn't been modified.
The unpredictable fauna and flora can also prove to be massively dangerous.
Used By
I really like how dire the environment makes this job, and it's pay rate and resources provided really mark it as essential! A part of me does have to wonder though, if there is such a worry about the Tinge spreading to things that can cross sal***er, are there any drawbacks to using firearms that might spread whatever particles are at play via the explosion?

Ohhh that is a really good point I hadn't considered. I could rewrite it so that they only use melee weapons and non-gunpowder ranged weapons like crossbows
