Ītivoshan (/itɪˈvoʊʃɒn/)

Ītovoshan, located in Dīd i Yit, was originally the home of Voshan naqī Shanai. As the long-time home of the founder of the settlement and Ta Kiyitalo, it is now considered a sacred space. It is available to any seeking refuge, whether from an individual, a group, or the world as a whole. It is often the starting point of one's journey as a kikalo. It could also be considered a chapel dedicated to the worship of Shibi Yaud.

Purpose / Function

When this sacred hut was first built, it was the simple retirement home of Voshan naqī Shanai. He sought a simple life away from the politics of running two military organizations (the Dīdnalash and Voshan Dīdnalash). So it is a simple building. He lived here for the remainder of his life, even as he became known as a teacher of life, or la'alidi, and leader of what became known as Ta Kiyitalo.   After his death, the residents of Dīd i Yit sought to preserve the former home of their great teacher. It quickly became a place of respite and refuge as well as worship of Shibi Yaud.
