Ira'otu Nushar is Orist Valkan's father. He is a professor at the King's University. He instilled in Orist his desire for knowledge and provided access to the University's library.
Ira'otu is an expert on elfish history, going back to the creation of the elfs during the Third Age. It is quite possible that it was Ira'otu's passion for this history, including the collapse of an older civiliation, that instilled Orist's interest in ancient civilizations.
