Hag Dream - Dirk's deal

Dirk has a dream in which Haigha offers her information and protection in exchange for staying near Swan.

Dirk awoke in a dark void with a wet floor. A vulture-like shape appeared on what seemed to be a moon.   It manifested into Haigha who spoke to her, mostly along the lines of:   “You’ve had a miserable life haven’t you? Does it feel like fate itself has turned its claws on you?   I have seen your search for answers of why you are this way. I can give you what you desire and more.   You’ve waned on my power but if there is more to offer, I can even make your pet stronger.   I just need one thing from you child. Stay by Balga until I arrive, don’t leave her side for long and I will see that you flourish.   I will tell you of your truths in due time, Acantha. Once I feel I can trust you.   One last thing: Balga doesn’t know.”   Dirk intercut her speech with questions that were largely ignored; the only thing gained was that Haigha's promise of protection only extended to her, and Haigha wasn't clear the details of what “close” meant but whatever Dirk has been doing already is fine.   Dirk agreed to the deal, and Haigha seemed to do something to Rat at the end which frightened and upset him, but when Dirk woke up he was capable of shifting in size.   Dirk was also frozen for part of the dream, after being annoying.
