Barthen's Provisions (Phandalin)

The trading hub is located to the North of Phandalin, and to the West of owner Elmar Barthen's house. It is the first shop that would be seen when entering Phandalin from the Triboar Trail.
The store provides jobs for three people, which are the proprietor (Barthen) and two clerks (Ander and Thistle). The workers unload and load carts of goods and resources that come into, or go out of, Phandalin via wagon. They also trade wares, such as adventuring gear, though this is often left to the owner. Barthen's Provisions also sells rations and other simple goods. However, the post does not sell weapons and armor; these are instead sold at the Lionshield Coster.
A group of novice adventurers were promised 10 gp to transfer a wagon full of goods from Neverwinter to Barthen's store. The adventurers had been hired by Gundren Rockseeker, a dwarf explorer, who went ahead before them. However, he was waylaid by goblin bandits, and never made it to the trading post.
