Black Dragon (name unknown)

While pursuing a band of vicious thugs along the road between Cragmaw hideout and Phandalin, a mysterious black dragon overcame them and decimated the thugs before their very eyes. Our adventurers nervously asked the dragon what had brought it that region. The dragon simply said it was ridding the land of a great evil, and nothing more.

Seeing the dragons massive power firsthand, our adventurers requested that he/she escort them to Phandalin, in case there more thugs were to be found on the path. The dragon accepted, but required a hefty retainer, which the party paid. Upon arriving safely in Phandalin and whispering something to Tector Ozolith in a draconian tongue, spread its giant wings, and departed the group.

The dragon has not been seen since, but it most definitely piqued our adventurers curiousities.
