Sildar Hallwinter

Sildar is said to be kindhearted is 42 years old. He is a loyal member of the Lords' Alliance and a friend of Gundren Rockseeker. He is known to have visited Phandalin, in particular the Stonehill Inn, which he describes to be quaint.
He set off to Phandalin from Neverwinter to escort Gundren, who had recently rediscovered the Wave Echo Cave. Sildar had his own reasons for visiting Phandalin, and wished to find out what was happening with his fellow agent of the Lord's Alliance, Iarno Albrek. He also wanted to help Gundren and his brothers reopen the mine, as well as establish Phandalin as a place of prosperity, as it once was. However, on the way, he was ambushed and captured by the Cragmaw tribe and he taken to the Cragmaw Hideout, where he was watched over by Yeemik the goblin and Klarg the bugbear. Hallwinter's equipment was stripped from him, and sent to Cragmaw Castle.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~OUR ADVENTURER'S TALE~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

When our adventurers were en route to find Gundren Rockseeker, they were waylaid by a band of goblins, and chased the goblins into Cragmaw Hideout.  In the depths of the hideout, they found Sildar stripped, bound, and being held hostage by Yeemik the goblin.  The party restrained Yeemik (and intimidated him into divulging information on the whereabouts of Gundren and EDIT the black spider), rescued Sildar, and escorted him back to Phandalin where he paid them a ransom.  Sildar informed our adventurers that he is putting together funds and manpower to continue his hunt for Gundren, and will be seeking their assistance when he is ready to embark.
