Rass Sivina
"We are the exiles, the banished, the dreaded. Those who cross us shall know only fear." - Castix, Overlord of Rass Sivina
The Exiles
Among the many clans scattered across the Expanse, one has always stood out for their unique origin, and even more for their sheer depravity. Born of exiles from Marastrix cast out from their homeland under the laws of Sivinass. These criminals and violent outcasts from organized Varaki society found unity with each other, their marks of banishment becoming marks of brotherhood. The clan of exiles has grown into a criminal cartel that has now reached its claws from Marastrix into Barbaross and New Brauven and established itself as one of the most dangerous gangs in the Barbarossan Empire.Founding
Determining the exact date Rass Sivina was truly created is a difficult task that the clan themselves couldn't find. exiled Varaki banded together quite frequently after the establishment of the Rass Afriss, creating the clan system that the Varaki still abide by to this day. The earliest documented use of the name Rass Sivina was in 1454 AE, when an exile named Varkis led an attack on Marastrix with a group of fellow exiles and mercenaries from Ostenland. Varkis would go on to lead a year-long reign of terror upon the island nation until a joint force of Rass Marastrix and Brauveni troops pushed the exiles back onto the mainland. From there, Varkis would be hunted down and executed for his crimes. However, Rass Sivina would live on, hidden away in the seedy underworld of Brauven, slowly amassing their power over time. Despite numerous attempts to wipe them out, they always would return elsewhere. Even within the darker parts of Marastrix, members of Rass Sivina would be found establishing a foothold and gaining recruits. Disenfranchised Varaki and exiles found brotherhood within Rass Sivina, who stood against the ways of Rass Marastrix, while inhabitants of Brauven turned to them for protection, wealth, or a chance to lash out at the world that burned them. In the Second Era, after Brauven broke apart and became New Brauven, Rass Sivina still stands. While they have been entirely pushed out of Marastrix, they still retain a stranglehold on New Brauven. The country's criminal underworld must play by its rules, or face the clan's might.Organization
Rass Sivina exists almost as a mockery to the organized society of Marastrix. The clan of exiles is loosely organized, with its groups operating as independent cells spread out across New Brauven and eastern Barbaross. Each gang has its own leader who respects the authority of other gang leaders and doesn't interfere with other gang businesses unless called upon for aid. This structure has made fully extinguishing Rass Sivina from New Brauven nearly impossible, for if you kill one head, two more splinters off and reestablish themselves.Tyranny of Castix
This is how Rass Sivina ruled themselves for most of their history until 201 2E, when a ruthless Varaki named Castix forced himself as the overlord and ruler of Rass Sivina. Castix, once the leader of a gang situated in Saint Alenis, sought an opportunity for further growth beyond the traditional ways of the clan, seeking to take control of every gang in New Brauven and rule an underground kingdom. Through violence, blackmail, and non-refusable deals, Castix rose to the top and became to first to rule over all of Rass Sivina. After becoming the leader of Rass Sivina, Castix sought to dominate all other criminal organizations in New Brauven. Those who did not bow to Castix's rule were swiftly wiped out and those who remained must pay their tribute to Castix if they wished to remain alive. If Castix wanted something from you it must be given, or you would lose everything. The Dumeni gang learned this lesson the hard way when they entered New Brauven. Felix Dumeni chose not to capitulate to Castix's demands to work for him, opting to carry on freely in Rass Sivina's territory. It didn't take long for Castix to find him and nearly wipe the Dumeni gang out entirely, with no survivors besides Amira Vargas known to anyone.Rejected, Embraced, Empowered.
