The Possessing Serpent

Spawned in the wretched pit of death and decay of a Sinma Gravemind, the Spine Coiler slithers in the dark, searching for unwitting victims to control. The last thing their victim will know is pain as they become the puppet of the Spine Coiler, their lifeless body destined to join Asar Sinma's horde.

Appearance

The Spine Coiler is a small serpentine demon around the same size as the average snake. Along their bodies are masses of tendrils that aimlessly wriggle as they eagerly anticipate when they can take control of a victim. Their mouths are filled with rows of teeth used to dig through flesh to feed and burrow into their hosts.

Spine Coiler Possession

When the Spine Coiler is born, it will obey the command of its birthing Gravemind. When it is sent out to attack, the Spine Coiler will slither in the shadows, hidden away from the untrained eye in its hunt for a host. When it finds its target, the demon will pounce on the unsuspecting victim, tearing into their flesh with its maw as it burrows into their body. The monster will make its way to the victim's spinal cord, where it will sink its tendrils and take control of the host. Once it has dug into the host's spine, the demon will use its tendrils to infect the nervous system, allowing the Spine Coiler to act pilot of the host's body. After assuming control of the host's motor functions, the Spine Coiler will finish by bursting its head out from the victim's body, allowing it to breathe and see. The demon can take over the bodies of the recently deceased, but it very much prefers still alive hosts.   After completing the process of possession, the Spine Coiler will use the stolen body to carry out the will of Asar Sinma. The demon will assist in combat and execute whatever its superiors command of them. The Spine Coiler is permanently bound to its host, but they are able to pilot their bodies no matter how much damage the body has taken. The best way to kill this demon is by either cutting off or impaling the head, which is its most vulnerable point. The Spine Coiler is able to take control of anybody with a spinal cord but prefers humanoid lifeforms like humans or elves due to the demon's size perfectly suiting it.
