Ascendal
The ascendals are a race situated largely in Seermar and Hastameer. Though low in numbers and a minority even in these countries, the ascendals are considered by most to be the most powerful of the humanoid races. They also constitute most of the leaders of these countries.
Basic Information
Anatomy
At a simple glance, ascendals are more often than not mistaken for their cousins, the humans. However, not only is their intelligence far superior to their lesser relatives, but they have also used their minds to change their physiology. Ascendals have gained the power to harness magic and it is through the mana particles instilled in their cells and bloodstream that they have achieved this.
Genetics and Reproduction
The same as humans, except gestation is around 5 months.
Growth Rate & Stages
The first twenty years of an ascendal's growth mirrors human development. However, due to the mana coursing through their veins, ascendals have a much longer life span and can appear to be in their 20s or 30s when in reality they could be 200. An ascendal is considered elderly at around their 700th birthday, and the oldest age recorded was Haranos the Wise at 955. The second was just 873.
Ecology and Habitats
Mild temperatures favour this species. They have built houses, castles and cities to protect them from the elements and provide luxury, while their magic can fend off most foes of nature.
Additional Information

All ascendal civilisations are in southern Dardania. It is very rare to find an ascendal outside of these civilizations.

They are the most intelligent beings save for the gods themselves.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
The ability to use magic gives the ascendals great sensory capabilities, though these are just enhancements made through their use of magic rather than part of them from birth.
