The largest war in Bliveran history, it pitched the Black Queen - seeking world domination - against the Forces of Light, chiefly Eremere.

In 78 ED, a dark magic that had been mustering for decades manifested itself in the form of a powerful sorceress who called herself the Black Queen. Her power spread like rays of black light, a cancerous poison that encouraged evil, breeding chaos and disorder across all of Ablivar. Within twenty years all of Ablivar was under her influence, whether by force or conversion to her cause.   Many heroes rose to repel her and certainly the tales of Garowyn the Iron Heart and the Brothers of Meed inspired many a man to take up arms and join the Forces of Light, but truly nothing could withstand her march. Most perished.   In 12 ED she appeared in Eremere, corrupting the mind of the High Earl of the Rocklands who soon reneged on his oath of fealty to the King of Eremere, pledging to lead the Black Queen's forces in battle. Soon her forces were almost on the gates of the capital, until an unknown countess, going by the name of Daldriana Whitehart, took supreme command of the Forces of Light. Always at the head of the army, Whitehart pushed the Black Queen back further and further, until she was back in the Rocklands. The Battle for the Light, as scholars would go on to name it, was won with blood. The Black Queen fled to the Blackdron Mountains, with Daldriana Whitehart giving chase; none were seen to return.
