Kesser Reserve

A large territory in northeastern Loebnaeturie, situated on the edge of the Loebnaturien fjord. It is a place where nature has been created by humanoids, yet properly cared for by none other than nature itself. It separates Galu, Fallobe and Kesserfeld from each other.

Geography

The Kesser Reserve was created with the intent to make three kinds of habitats possible: A hilly grassland, several groves and a lake.   And so it happened. The Kesser reserve currently holds three small forests that separate Kesserfeld from the rest of the fjord, one small lake about 3 miles in diameter, and a meadow that spreads far with man-made hills.

Fauna & Flora

Thanks to the efforts of the people of Kesserfeld and the Kesser gnomes, several beasts were introduced from other places to enrich the local ecosystem.   Especially notable is the addition of creatures from ancient times, the dinosaurs. These lifeforms are only found rarely in Swame, and some adventurers who went there were carrying specimens when they stumbled upon the habitat in progress. They decided to set these dinosaurs free and give them a habitat in which they could thrive. And that succeeded.   Thanks to these adventurers, flora of bygone ages have also been introduced to keep the bottom of the ancient food chain intact. This has worked wonders for the development of the dinosaur population.   All these features have supported the shaping of the natural environment of the Kesser Reserve, and is one of the most prominent research hubs for archaeologists in Kibitann.

History

The fjord in northeastern Loebnaeturie has always been a relatively flat area, with grassland all over but no other things.   That all changed when a Falloben forest gnome named Mahera Kesser hiked through the area. He looked at the barren fields and he thought:
"This is where i want to live. But i would like to make this a place where other life would want to live"
In the year 6387, Mahera settled down with his family of 8 on the western coast of the fjord. He named it Kesserfeld, since he would create his vision on these fields together with the other people of his name.   They went to work on the Reserve, which Mahera suspected would take a few years, but thanks to unexpected events would take more than a hundred years.   This happened because with time, Kesserfeld became more populated, and amongst the new inhabitants were adventurers, magicians and workers proficient with landscaping. The Kesser Reserve started developing more and more, far beyond Mahera's initial vision. He and his family happily kept going on, working on a territory that would become an example of shared effort making something amazing..   Eventually, it was the year 6521. Mahera passed on during this year, and his life work looked better than he had ever imagined.   And even now, the Kesser Reserve keeps growing. And the town of Kesserfeld will see to that as best as they can.
