The Dwarves of Eldetha of great craftsmen and merchants, as well has skilled warriors and workers of stone.
Though welcoming to all, Dwarven holds are filled with secrets known only to those within the Clan.
On the surface the Dwarves would appear to only have a few strongholds however beneath the surface extends a vast network of hidden pathways leading to great underground cities and sources of untold riches.
The history of the Dwarves in one of peace. They have never sought war, and were reluctant to join the Dragon war, but ultimately decided that they could not turn away from the suffering and destruction inflicted by the
Dragon and
Dragonborn that served them.
Types of Dwarf
- Duergar also known as the Grey Dwarves. They dwell in the Underdark and after millennia of being controlled by the Mindflay they have become twisted and cruel.
- Hill Dwarf also know as Holbor Dwarves, or Gold Dwarves.
- Mountain Dwarf Hailing from the Southern Kingdom, these Dwarves built their great Kingdom beneath the mountains of the Coiled Serpent.
Standard Dwarf Features
Ability Score Increase
Dwarves Constitution score increases by 2.
Age
Dwarves mature at the same rate as humans, but they’re considered young until they reach the age of 50. On average, they live about 350 years.
Size
Dwarves stand between 4 and 5 feet tall and average about 150 pounds. Their size is Medium.
Speed
A Dwarves base walking speed is 25 feet. Their speed is not reduced by wearing heavy armour.
Darkvision
Accustomed to life underground, Dwarves have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. They can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. Whilst using their Darkvision they can’t discern colour, only shades of grey.
Dwarven Resilience
Dwarves have advantage on saving throws against poison, and you have resistance against poison damage.
Dwarven Combat Training
Dwarves have proficiency with the battleaxe, handaxe, light hammer, and warhammer.
Tool Proficiency
Dwarves gain proficiency with the one type of artisan’s tools: smith’s tools, brewer’s supplies, or mason’s tools.
Stonecunning
Whenever a Dwarf makes an Intelligence (History) check related to the origin of stonework, they are considered proficient in the History skill and add double their proficiency bonus to the check, instead of their normal proficiency bonus.
Language
Dwarve can speak, read, and write Common and Dwarvish. Dwarvish is full of hard consonants and guttural sounds, and those characteristics spill over into whatever other language a dwarf might speak.
