Visk Mages

The Visk Mages are the main source of magical understanding within The Azmarian Republic. They are responsible for improving magical understanding and defense across The Republic. Their name stems from House Visk whom founded the organization and continue to serve as their leaders.
Individuals within The Azmarian Republic whom show particular magical ability are invited to join the Visk Mages at a young age. Leaving their families behind they are taken to Ebonkeep and the Scriptorum Sanctorum where they are trained to use their magical abilities.
Despite the common view the Visk mages are not a military force, though their few battlemages are the most likely to be seen by the general populous outside the Scriptorum Sanctorum and are clearly identifiable by their silver cloaks and attire.
