The Gnomish Republic

Home to the capital city of Sky Garden, this is an actual country concerned with it's citizens, which includes a bill of rights and a constitution, but doesn't allow direct voting, but on representatives and an insane bureaucratic infrastructure to keep the capital city running. The Gnomish Republic was able to keep alive ancient Kel'tarar garden technology and traded food for sky ships with their cousins from The Sky Claws, which enabled them to create a trade empire based on food stuffs and medicine. With sky ship technology they reversed engineered it and created floating ponds to safely grow rice throughout their country, which helped the population explode to about 3,000,000 citizens, which is two thirds of the population on Boscage 4, with 2,000,000 of them in the Sky Garden alone. With space partitioning magic, each 50,000 person block can fit into the size of a teleportation circle or chamber, with a total of 40 warrens in the capital city of Sky Garden, and 20 warrens spread out around the capital floating on sky gardens. The Gnomish Republic has no villages or towns, only cities and one megalopolis.   The Gnomish Republic is a pacifist nation, with limited military, mostly mercenaries from The Sky Claws, and small armed forces to protect the cities, not invade other peoples' lands. Because of this policy toward peace, the population is able to use it's abundant food stores to their advantage and turned most of the population into middle and upper middle class, with abject poverty being pretty rare, especially hunger. Magic and technology flourish here, and many a great artificer and wizard have called The Gnomish Republic home, along with their warlock champion, Bingo Bango Jingo Jango, their Forest Gnome cousin from the South of some renown who wanted to come investigate these floating lilies and the tiny giant mega cities.
