Night of the Long Knives

The Night of the Long Knives was a massacre at Stonehenge in 463.   In attempt to sue for peace, High King Vortigern and his father-in-law Cyning Hengest of Kent arranged for a feast in Salisbury at Stonehenge, with the invitation extended to all the nobles of Britain. Over 300 nobles attended.   Unbeknownst to High King Vortigern, the Saxons under Cyning Hengest had hidden weapons. They took Vortigern captive and slaughtered all the nobility of Britain.   The only survivor was Duke Eldol of Glevum, who famously killed over 70 Saxons with a table leg.
