The Seven Heroes of Cenel

Summary

The Seven Heroes of Cenel were an adventuring party consisting of seven members, King Augustus, Aurora, Morgan "Morose" Fowler , Karris, Delilah, Cameron, and Gavin. The legend follows these seven adventurers in their march against the mad king Sabine Lucian.   King Augustus Lucian was murdered, killed by his cousin and the only other living member of the Lucian royal line, Sabine Lucian. Sabine had been exiled from the family for years, and had killed the sitting king in order to take his spot on the throne and rule the country of Asortia. Sabine had framed Augustus' wife, Queen Aurora Kalder, and his advisor Doctor Morgan "Morose" Fowler of the murder, and sentenced them to death. On the night before their scheduled public execution, the previous captain of the Royal Whiteguard Karris had raised suspicions about Sabines claims. She, along with her second in command Gavin and his husband Cameron, deserted. She sent Gavin and Cameron off ahead, and freed Aurora and Morose from their cells in the castle dungeon. Upon freeing Aurora and Morose, Karris had employed the help of Delilah Heartleaf, a wood-elf that had lost her family and was on a search to find them, to aid in keeping them safely hidden away from the current royal guard, the Blackguard, hunting for the three of them. In the following years, Karris, Aurora, Morose, and Delilah had traveled the world, helping those in need and gaining allies for their upcoming confrontation with Sabine, while following the trail that Gavin and Cameron had left behind for them to follow. When they finally reached them, over a year later in Cintign, Cameron and Gavin had been hunkered down in Cameron's parents' home in the city of Zhenyu Han, watching over and protecting none other than the "dead" king, Augustus Lucian. Sabine had attempted to kill him, and very nearly succeeded. He'd stabbed Augustus and left him for dead in the cold, damp dungeon under the castle. Augustus would have not survived had the ever lucky Cameron not stumbled upon him. Cameron healed him, and relayed the story Augustus had told him of Sabine's attempted assassination to his partner and the whiteguard captain. That same night, Cameron and Gavin whisked Augustus away to safety in the shadows of the moonlight, while Karris remained behind to free Aurora and Morose and save them from their grim fate. Reunited with their friends, the party had continued their adventure across the world to amass allies who would eventually stand with them against Sabine. When they returned to Cenel, Karris, Cameron, and Gavin lead an attack outside of the city to draw the Blackguard away from the castle, and empowered Leo Issac's rebellion militia to attack the castle itself, allowing Aurora, Augustus, Morose, and Delilah to sneak into the castle to confront Sabine personally. An epic battle raged, and Sabine was defeated. Using the last of his strength, he'd cast a spell towards Augustus. Morose intercepted it, taking the blow in his stead. Morose and Sabine both died. With the true king returned to his throne, and the Blackguard routed in both battles, King Augustus Lucian and Queen Aurora Kalder-Lucian would be fair and peaceful rulers, until they both eventually die of old age. They were buried together next to the grave of Morose Fowler, the first man not of the royal family to be buried in the Royal Cemetary.
