Kaerndal Castle
Purpose / Function
Royal Residence of the King of Scorland and the last defence of the capital of that entity.
Architecture
The castle was built for function, not form, and while it holds a commanding view over the city, it is a bland stone structure.
History
The castle came before the city did, built when the Empire was first expanding and the Lairds came together to form the Kingdom of Scorland, this became the major point of defense against the Empire. Due to that fact, it was maintained and occupied at all times, requiring people. Those people built homes and shops, until it eventually grew into a city in its own right, surrounding the castle and its walls.
