Sigmand Confederacy

Structure

Each of the current thirteen states of the Confederacy is governed by an official who nominally governs in Sigmand's stead, meaning that they act as his representative within their respective states. These officials are elected every four years from among the elite of the states, which usually includes landed gentry and powerful merchants. During their term, they are responsible for representing their state's interests within the Confederacy and for working with other officials to ensure that the Confederacy functions smoothly and effectively. Additionally, they are tasked with managing their state's internal affairs, such as infrastructure, education, and healthcare, to ensure that their citizens are well-cared for and that their state remains prosperous. Through this system of Confederacy, the thirteen states are able to maintain their individual sovereignty while still working together for the greater good of all.

History

According to legend, Sigmand was not only a ruler but also an architect. He built a magnificent castle called Khvistr Ratsi atop a hill 1300 years ago and filled it with his undead servants. Sigmand was a formidable ruler who united the original five states under his iron rule, and he was known for his fierce and tyrannical leadership. Nevertheless, as time passed, Sigmand became increasingly reclusive, and the people grew more and more afraid of him. To ensure stable governance, they established a council that eventually formed a confederation of thirteen states, each with their own representatives to ensure good rule of law. Despite the establishment of the council, the tradition remains that only Sigmand can be called king. This tradition has been carried on for centuries and remains an important part of the culture and history of the region. Today, Khvistr Ratsi still stands as a testament to Sigmand's reign, and legends continue to suggest that one day he will pass through the gates of Khvistr Ratsi once more.

Territories

Thirteen individual sovereign states are bound together by an oath of confederation, meaning that they are united in their common interests and goals. This confederation provides a framework for cooperation between the states, allowing them to work together to achieve their common objectives.

Laws

The Confederacy is a union of states bound together by the oath of "Zli Prala." This phrase represents a solemn promise made by each state to provide mutual assistance, defense, and neutrality towards one another. The oath serves as a symbol of unity and cooperation among the member states, as well as a reminder of their shared values and goals. Translated, it means "Common Oath."
"Viniis Fstrelil" is a significant agreement between the states of the Confederacy that has far-reaching implications for the people who practice their religion in various temples, monasteries, and hermitages. The agreement grants each sovereign state temporal power over these holy sites and the people who practice there. This means that the states have the authority to regulate the practices and beliefs of the religious communities within their borders. The word translates to "Religious Settlement."
Moreover, the agreement serves as a crucial tool to promote peace and harmony among the states. It prohibits violence between the states and the practice of blood feuds among citizens within the states. This provision is critical because it prevents the escalation of conflicts that could potentially lead to war and destruction.
The "Shal Zone," which is also referred to as the "Shal Agreement" in Common tongue, is a significant treaty established among the states of the Confederacy. This agreement played a crucial role in expanding the Confederacy to thirteen states and ensured that no state could unilaterally declare war without the consent of the remaining states.
