Aether Omphalos

Once entering the Epitome, those arriving find themselves on a pentagonal plate with three torch holders. While the plate is an ebony metal, it secretly is the Aether Omphalos.
These torches shift the this plane into one of four different views: Misty woodland, dense swampland, sparse taiga, and empty metropolis. When lit in a specific manner with a shard of the omphalos, the mighty crystal will reveal itself in the shadows of its pedestal. It appears as a massive, jet dodecahedron.
Seated within its facets, lay an ancient hero lost to the ages. Thought to be several millennia old, Ninurta retains few memories of his past. With a form not quite human and not quite Ozwok, this hero often appears to those in search of shards, to either guide or hinder them.
It is unknown the exact abilities granted by this strange omphalos. From Ninurta's experience, the seating process takes a toll over the generations... immortality is exchanged for memory and perhaps even agency.
