The Ferric Envoy
An fairly new mercantile organization that has made frequent appearances within various communities of Midwest Heartlands in recent years. It apparently began as a miners' guild that operated an independent iron mine, and was led by the industrious hobgoblin family of Clan Cobol. Their base of operations is far to the southwest of the Heartlands, some distance south of Dhegohm.
They found metals far more valuable than the iron they were originally after. What, specifically, isn't general knowledge, though gold and copper is often found alongside iron deposits. Whatever they mined was enough to shift the fortunes of the hobgoblins running the guild, and since then smithies and shops have shown up throughout neighbouring lands, with trade caravans marked with the Envoy's symbol also becoming common sights upon roads and riverways. The quality of their work is reputable (if more practical than artistic,) and their prices are known to be fair.
