The Red Dame
Mae, the Red Dame, is one of the most popular deities of The Doctrine of the Four Moons. She is the deified personification of the red moon, second to rise and following the path of her eternal friend and guide, The Gray Rabbit. As do all goodly beings in the Doctrine's teachings, Mae serves Emir, The Sun God Himself, but her dedication and loyalty is second to none. She is the champion of His forces, the shield of His subjects, and is dutiful to a fault.
It is said that she had been created as a maid and servant, and would dutifully tend to the great halls of Palatium. Emir declared that they would cast open the gates and set out to share His light with the cosmos, and asked His primordial knights who among them would herald their glory. When none of them spoke up, Mae, clad in her simple red servants' robes, knelt before Him and swore her oath. By the very truth and passion of her words, she was knighted under her own power and arose, clad in red armour and bearing Iliach, the sunbeam spear, and Iubar, the shield of dawn.
As she stood at the gates, trying to decide the best course, the Gray Rabbit dashed out ahead and lit the way.
