Duke of Calmarnock

Qualifications

This is a hereditary title. It was granted to the first duke for military and political achievements.

Requirements

Since this is a hereditary title, one has to be born into a family that is nobility. It is passed down along the male line, to the first son.

Appointment

The firstborn son (usually) will assume the title upon his father's death. A person can also be appointed to this rank, if they have achieved a significant military battle or political goal.

Responsibilities

  • Marrying well
  • Providing a couple of heirs
  • Playing host to parties/attending them
  • Take care of family

Benefits

Wealthy, sometimes but not always is wealthier the King and Queen. Access to ancestral lands, jewels, and other items as acquired by the family.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

The title is passed from father to son. As long the curent duke has a living son, it will stay in the family. If their is no son, then it will go to the next eligible male (brother, cousin, nephew). But if there is no eligible male than the rank for that area will be declared defunct. The title can also be striped while a person is living, if that person has brought dishonor to himself or the Crown.

History

His valor and strategic brilliance caught the attention of the ruling monarch, who rewarded him with vast lands and the noble title. The castle, strategically perched on a hill, became the seat of the new duchy.   Political Influence: As the region prospered under the Duke's wise governance, the House of Calmarnock became synonymous with political sagacity. The Dukes skillfully navigated the intricate web of court politics, forming alliances and ensuring the prosperity of their subjects.
