Seth is Jared Cooper twin, younger by an hour. They were a united front all of their lives as they were late bloomers. Both were eager to leave the small mining town of North Pass, wanting a life that was better, bigger and shinier... plus away from those who used to bully them.
On their 18th birthday, they went for what they thought would be the last camping trip around North Pass. Everything changed for them on the return trip. In a clearing just outside the town limits, they found a Shadowfang Whisker Basket with an infant inside.
They formed an instant connection with the baby. After reading A Plea for Protection they both agreed to take care of the baby, who they named, Ella Cooper. Deciding it was best not to move, Seth went to work at the local market store.
Seth was always more of a free spirit and the hours allowed him to continue to do so, plus it allowed to be available to take care of Ella Cooper when Jared Cooper needed the help.
He was always the fun loving uncle to her, spoiling her. He believes his so-called carefree attitude is why he was targeted by the Elves. But his loyalty and his love for both Jared Cooper and Ella Cooper is what kept him silent for 3 months.
Eventually, the pain and Anlyth Nightshade's magick made him give up where Ella Cooper is. The only reason he wasn't killed was because Ella brought a greater threat to The Night Lands and she was needed in the end.
