Devil's Ashes are the only way angels can safely step foot in Inferncenem without immediately burning to a crisp. They are the ashes picked up by the early angels soon after they escaped the hellish realm soon after The Falling Out and were later found to have protective properties.

Discovery

Soon after The Falling Out, the surviving angels noticed their bodies and wings sprinkled with ashes from Inferncenem. One angel noted that she had seen other angels burst into flames just from being in the hellish realm's sky and wondered why they didn't either. Another angel suggested that it could be that the ashes covering them protected them from burning.

Availability

Only a special sub-division of Electi Protectores called Daemonium Casus Coetus uses these ashes as their work involves interacting with and spying on demons in their realm.

Utility

The ashes are used simply: the ashes are sprinkled on the body and wings and covered with a gel to make the ashes stick for upwards of two days or months depending on how long the angel plans to stay in Inferencenem. They are used in conjunction with thin leather full-body suits. Care is taken not to have the ashes touch exposed skin as they cause burns.

Devil's ashes are stored in small, portable containers and the gel is put in separate containers. When the gel starts drying and losing its stickiness, new gel and ashes must be reapplied.

They are used by the Daemonium Casus Coetus to protect themselves from Sewtagernx, a god-made mechanism that prevents non-demons from entering the hellish realm.

Social Impact

The discovery of Devil's ashes opened the door for safely travelling through Inferncenem and indirectly led to the creation of Daemonium Casus Coetus, an elite team specialising in spying on and interacting with demons to ensure that they don't plan anything evil.
