Ellis Island Police Force

Describe a law enforcing organization within your world and how they operate. Ellis island isn't that big, and the police force is relative small there. Its a 18 man strong, fully operated police station open 24x7.
They do have cars to support their collegues in Upper New York Bay if needed. But there are always 2 officers at the desk in the station. Thats the deal they made with the Benefactor and the B.A.R.K. organisation.

They have a few additonal mandates and therefore the policemen are compensated, so they are the best payed policemen.. The B.A.R.K organisation pays well. The policemen have an excellent set of personal weapons. Free costume cleaning, free food during their shifts and their family at home gets food delivered as well. The also agreed to the periodical check by one of the B.A.R.K. agents, but the officers on duty have never seen one.

Regular Jobs

Agents patrol the area every two hours and report anything suspicious. They are asked to order anything even if it just is a feeling or a silly thing to mention. Without knowing, the field agent that is tasked with observation of an agent is doing tests to see the integrity by making certain changes that are worth investigating.

The agents also maintain a check on people they see and also check for people they would like to apprehend. During daytime they keep things in check, sometimes help a tourist with help and information. They are always nice and honest. if not they will be removed for this station without any chance of returning. most cases they are also kicked from the police force.

There is a chain of command, with the Governor of the State on top of the chain. He (or she) is supported by several chiefs of police inside his territory.
