The Halls of Black Fire
Beneath the Wastes lay a wide open underground cavern roughly three miles down. The cavern itself at one time housed the highest ranking nobility and the wealthiest of traders and craftsmen among the dwarves. The vast open cavern is still lined with exorbitant villas and manors hewn from the jet lined rock face of the cavern itself. Throughout the area are huge veins of iridescent opals of every color, and once was the pride of Underhome. It was here that ancient dwarven kings would meet with and hold lavish balls for royalty of every other race. The area is now desolate and abandoned, filled with the bones of thousands of long-dead dwarves that were caught unaware and unprepared when darkness descended from above. The Blight Born have been known to hunt here from time to time, but living creatures here are scarce. Instead, void animated undead now aimlessly shuffle this once grand domain, devouring anything that gets in their path. The once extravagant and luxurious homes now lie in ruin, filled with rotten and tattered furniture and forgotten art now lost to time and decay. The location of this site, below the Gaul Do Shah Wastes, lead to speculation that the elf queen has perhaps repurposed some of this area for her own use, and some even speculate that the spirit tree itself may yet be spirited away here, but no proof of this has surfaced. The dwarves have not dared to venture out this far, as the areas between Grunhome and here are teeming with every manner of fell and foul beast, and the dwarves have no desire to risk lives from threats both above and below simultaneously.
