The Lost
There are things in the world that have existed since beyond time, godless and beyond mortal understanding. The motivations that move their actions and sway their favor remain so obtuse and abstract that to full understand them is to lose the ability to define the self. This madness of awareness lies without description upon the lips of the Lost, a grumbling from the deepest bowels of the world that can only be heard by those that it is meant for and they, in turn will know the touch of that suffocating blackness of forever as the embrace of the unfolding perceptions of the timeless rock and seething flames that writhe and coil about the heart of the very planet itself.
Mythology & Lore
Since the time before the Primordial March there have existed several entities that exist beyond the realm of even godhood. While these entities are strange and carry no sense of cognitive awareness of the world as we know it, they still yet exact their influence upon the various realities they choose to inhabit. Some seem benevolent, while others so chaotic that to know even their name is be broken upon the wheel of madness. The Lost finds its origins among these. While almost nothing is known about this entity, thus far it has been content to pull upon subtle strings of events through the choosing of a terrestrial representative to carry its desired forward. These desires are seldom obvious or straightforward, and tend to affect things on a scale and scope so far beyond the understanding of those bound by time that they often seem completely inconsequential, but the ripples in stone still flow to the edge of everything, building and growing as they go. Through flame and through rock, iron and gem the fleeting touch of the Great Worm can be seen by those that know how to look.
Divine Origins
The origins of the Lost are as shrouded in myth and mystery as the actual origins of the universe, and potentially as old. While some might revere this entity as a god it is the furthest thing from it, owing no aspect of its existence to anything but its own drives and mechaniations, and holding power over only the earth and fire which conceals it in the deepest parts of the world.
Tenets of Faith
When the pact of stone has run its due course, the artist will feel the call to come home like an itch behind the eyes that becomes more and more unbearable the longer they attempt to stave it off. All eventually succumb to the summons and none who make the pilgrimage to Pouman Vide Mine are ever heard from again.
Granted Divine Powers
The artist that chooses this path is granted dominion over earth and fire, their power drawing up from the core of the very planet itself.
