Clan Dehooge (Duh-Hoo-Guh)

The Dehooge clan is a predominantly human clan, whose large estate is located within the Portcullis of Kinloche. They are one of the three great clans, along with Clans Craghold and Ensslin, that have their seats in Kinloche proper. Clan Dehooge has a colorful history, due in part to the clans druidic origins. The stag featured on the Clan's coat of arms is an homage to the original druids that founded the clan, as well as their unfettered devotion to the deity Cernunnos. It is tradition in the Dehooge clan for each family to commit one of their children to the druidic priesthood. As such the Dehooge clan have earned the reputation for protecting the natural resources and wildlife of Kinloche. Some say that the hills and forests of Kinloche are not so much as unripe for agriculture, but that the Dehooge and their ancestors keep to an ancient pact with the wilds of Kinloche. In return for not farming or taking from the land, it is said that the land secures the safety and peace of Kinlochians. Clan Dehooge is known to neither confirm nor deny this rumor.
