Dymia Lighthouse

In the picturesque coastal town of Amberlight nestled between rugged cliffs and the endless expanse of the sea, stood the Dymia Lighthouse. This towering structure, with its elegant spiral staircase and guiding beam of light had long been a symbol of safety and hope for sailors navigating treacherous waters.   For years, the lighthouse was manned by a dedicated team led by the venerable Keeper Wilhelmina. The beacon's glow, a radiant amber light, cast a reassuring warmth across the coastal landscape. The townsfolk relied on its unwavering presence, an eternal guardian in the ever-changing tides.   However, a mysterious and chilling tale began to unfold within the confines of the lighthouse. One by one, the occupants, including Keeper Wilhelmina, started to go missing. Those who turned up were found lifeless, their eyes vacant voids that seemed to hold the secrets of a haunting mystery.   Rumors spread like wildfire through the tight-knit community. Whispers of a malevolent force within the lighthouse echoed in hushed conversations at the local tavern. Superstitions gripped the hearts of the townsfolk as they avoided the lighthouse, once a source of comfort now shrouded in fear.   Amelia, a daring young woman from Amberlight, couldn't resist the call of curiosity. Driven by a mixture of concern for her community and an insatiable thirst for adventure, she decided to investigate the eerie occurrences within the lighthouse.   Undeterred by the tales of doom, she took it upon herself to unveil the mystery within the lighthouse. As she ascended the spiraling staircase, an otherworldly chill replaced the warmth that had once embraced the structure. Shadows danced unnaturally in the flickering amber glow.   Amelia uncovered forgotten lore and unearthed cryptic symbols, realizing that the lighthouse was a vessel for something ancient.   As she delved deeper, reality started to distort - The staircase seeming to go on forever as doors started opening up within impossible walls. The lighthouse became a gateway to dimensions beyond comprehension and the symbols etched on the walls pulsed as they became impossibly large almost hovering away from their surfaces, The amber light transformed into a sickly pulsating hue as reality warped and twisted - The veil between worlds tearing themselves apart as bricks came off walls and glass started shattering into tiny pieces.   The adventurous young girl sought to get through it all as she believed herself to have the willpower to overcome any obstacles, spending hours lost within the maze of winding staircases and incorporeal doorways. But alas she was wrong, Amelia couldn't take it anymore - She closed her eyes, Telling herself it was all a bad dream. "I'll wake up". But before she could compose herself, The loud thunderous crash of waves shook the foundations of the lighthouse, Loud guttural clicks emerged from the distance - And when she opened her eyes...
---
...Amelia got home that night, she wandered slowly through the shadowed streets - the townsfolk looking in horror at the unrecognisable sight of a young woman they once knew clawing her eyes out as she slowly walked home. She lay in bed, the sheets below her turning red as puddles of blood started to pool seemingly non-stop from where her eyes used to be.   The Dymia Lighthouse, once a symbol of safety, now stood as a monument to the irreversible consequences of meddling with forces beyond mortal comprehension. The eldritch horror, veiled in amber shadows, persisted, casting a perpetual night over the coastal town—a chilling reminder of the fragility of Human understanding in the face of the unknowable.
