Order of Aedalus

Summary

Order of The Aedalus also known as Order of The Dreamer, A revered monastic order thrived in the tranquil outskirts of the river town of Dymchurch now have abbeys spread all across the land after the destruction of it's only Monastery. Its devout members bound by a monk's oath dedicated themselves to the worship of their God of creation, "Aedalus" also known as "The Dreamer."  

Origin Story

In the ancient days, a profound belief held sway—people saw the world as a creation born from the dream of the great light in the sky, known as Aedalus or "The Dreamer." This celestial entity, shrouded in myth and reverence, became the focal point of devotion for those seeking the origins of existence.   A magnificent monastery, testament to their unwavering faith, stood proudly at the outskirts of Rainegate. This sacred place served as the physical embodiment of the Order's connection to The Dreamer. Its halls echoed with prayers, and the air resonated with the peaceful contemplation of its members.  

Belief

The legend of Aedalus is that he was born out of the same celestial object that was named after him, The giant crater left behind was due to the massive form that he inhabited when he emerged from inside. As such the deity that dwells inside was also given the name "The Dreamer" to better differentiate the two entities - The name coming from the belief that though his corporeal form hasn't visited the mortal world, He still influences the world while he slumbers within Aedalus.  

The Fall

However the serenity of The Order of The Dreamer was shattered during the turbulent times of The Age of Division. As conflicts escalated with the people of Kingsbury and Thornton seeking a path to besiege the city, they inadvertently clashed with the monastery's surroundings. What was once a haven of neutrality and tranquility became a battleground.   The once-great monastery, a symbol of devotion and spiritual harmony, succumbed to the ravages of war. The conflict that unfolded outside its sacred walls left nothing untouched. The flames of destruction consumed the peaceful settlement, reducing it to ruins. The Order of The Dreamer faced a devastating loss as their cherished sanctuary crumbled amidst the chaos.   Now, the remnants of the monastery stand as a somber reminder of the Order's past glory, a silent witness to the impact of strife on the pursuit of spiritual enlightenment. Yet, the teachings of The Dreamer persist, carried by those who survived the tragedy, echoing through the winds of change that swept through the realm.     Summary: The Order of The Dreamer despite the destruction of its original monastery in Dymchurch, has not only survived but continued to thrive in other parts of the realm. Notably, in the that of Peaksmouth and Rainegate the teachings of The Dreamer have found fertile ground to sow and expand their order.   In Peaksmouth, the Order has established a strong presence and its members actively contribute to the spiritual fabric of the community. The once-quiet streets now echo with the prayers and contemplation of devoted followers. The Dreamer's influence permeates the town, bringing a sense of tranquility amidst the chaos of the outside world.
