Session 11: Grix Escapes Report
General Summary
Upon arriving back at Onza the party sought to turn their findings from the crypt in to Guardmaster Triston Grimwalt. When they approached his office they discovered him reprimanding a guard regiment for the escape of Grix. It would appear through some form of illusory magic that a hooded individual imitated the look of Bogart's wife. They then used said appearance to gain the upper-hand and knock him out. Once he came to Grix was gone, and as the search started the first signs of a path looked to be North East toward Kordac's Scar. The party decided they would wait to hear from the scouts in pursuit and decided to take an evening, rest, and shop.
While shopping through the tent market they met a caravan of carts that had arrived in the last couple days. Speaking and dealing with the caravan they learned they had traveled from the North from the Grand Duchy of Ruckoya and where planning to go through Onza Village and Vecora to reach the capital of Azamel before turning north again. This plan obviously did not account for Vecora being overrun with zombies. They were contemplating taking an off-road route near the Kordac's Scar range, but were concerned that their current security detail wouldn't be able to hack it.
After a while of communing back and forth about potential next steps the party decided they could kill two birds with one stone. They offered protection services to the caravan while planning to seek out Grix near the Scar. Grimwalt handed Ruineren a Speaking Stone that was apart of the communication network used by the scouts and himself so they can stay in touch.
The group met up with the caravan on the outskirts of town and set off. One night, roughly a day into their travels, they were assaulted by a group of bandits that were easily dispatched. That morning as they were waking the Speaking Stone began a slight humming sound. Ruineren placed it to his ear to hear the message and caught a quick message from one of the scouts that Grix and his companion were entering a cave along the Scar.
