Session 10: He's either coming for you or me! Report

General Summary

With the group's victory over the forces of Bad El Kazaar at the Cemetary, Embra send the 4 unlikely companions back to report to the General. As the group enter the command tent and discuss next steps a soldier rushes in calling for the General to report to the palisades as there are 100 foot flames coming out of the ground. The group witness a 100 foot chasm open up several hundred feet to the north west of the city with flames pouring out of it. The flames die down and forces from the elemental plane of fire begin to amass before the city. Ban tells the group to save the mine and the farms, and what forces he has left will hold the siege at bay. The general asks that Ceru stay behind so he can outline a secret mission for him which suits his capabilities. Harold and Bruno discuss the situation and Bruno and his new friends decide to fight the goblins heading to the mines, while Harold and his squad move to intercept the Defias Brotherhood heading to the farms. Ban calls for his spy master Magdalena Rimensberger, who arrives in short order. Ban Tells Magdalena and Ceru of his plans to deliver a blow to the goblins before they arrive at the mine, and to track down where the Defias reinforcements came from that took the captives. Ceru decides he's better at sneaking then sabotage and elects to go find the captives and the Defias camp. Magdalena heads straight to the Dusty pig to find Milhouse Manastorm to teleport ahead of Bruno's group and divert some of the goblins away from the mine.
Bruno heads to the Dusty Pig and requisitions some healing potions, while Lord Winter helps the troops on the wall calm down and hold strong, while Llethwyn decides he should probably loot his dead friend's house. After acquiring some mounts the 3 set out to defend Broken Tusk mine and stop the goblins from opening up the old passage way to the Broken Tusk Orc Clan's Camp in the mountains.
The 3 adventures come across a small group of goblins heading towards the mine, and charge into battle. Llethwyn turns into a bear while holding his mount and is kicked in the teeth,, then charges 2 goblins who throw dynamite at his feet. Llethwyn stretches to his 12 foot height and lets out an immense roar that echos off the mountain walls, and terrifies the goblins who flee into the mine.
Mean while Ceru attempting to track down the reinforcements comes across a group of Defias bandits setting an ambush in between their blockade and the farms. Ceru decides that remaining unseen is his best chance at discovering the camp and stays hidden while moving on past the ambush spot. He trails some Defias heading back towards the blockade and follows them to a camp where he witnesses Vanessa Vancleef, Marrisa Du'Paige and Bors getting troops ready to set out and push the blockade closer to Dace.
With the goblins scared off Bruno continues to bound of the rock for advantage while Lord Winter slowly approaches the darkened mine. Llethwyn deciding he can see in the dark as a bear charges off into the mine with little regard for tactics. He kills 2 of the goblins before he hears aloud explosion and orc war horns blaring out from down the cave which instantly frighten him. He quickly is over run by orc and goblin, and is almost knocked unconscious. Meanwhile Lord Winter and Bruno reach the mine entrance with Bruno not being able to see his hand in front of his face opts to not have light and asks Lord Winter to cancel the light spell cast on his bow so he can hide in the dark and rely on his completely normal hearing abilities.
Lord Winter discovers that there is an Orc war band on the move and falls back to the mine entrance where he instructs the little Bruno to "find something to destroy the entrance with". Bruno wasting no time at all hurries over and discovers a box of dynamite which he quickly lights and throws deep into the mine striking the gravely wounded Llethwyn. 
Lethwyn having no interest in becoming an Orc slave picks up the dynamite, and hurls himself over a goblin landing on his back holding the dynamite high into the air. Two orcs see the dynamite and move to rip it from Leltwyn's grasp. Holding on with every Elven ounce of strength in his body, he is unable to match the strength of the orcs releasing the explosives. The two Orc not knowing what to do next attempt to exit the mine but are blocked by the bottle neck at the entrance created by Lord Winter. At the last moment Lord Winter picks up Bruno, and runs as the explosion goes off and causes the mine to collapse. Lord Winter not wishing to the orc warband again in the final battle rigs the mountain and collapses the mine entrance beyond repair. The two remaining adventurers take a moment to rest and try to figure out why a Bear thought he could solo a dungeon.....
