Session 3: "And they Call it a Mine!" Report

General Summary

The group arrived at the Broken Tusk Mine, to discover 2 Dace militia tending to a wounded miner name Hank Scorpio. Sigurd recognizing Hank from his first few weeks completing his community work service hours determined there was something off about the situation. Sigurd being the upstanding citizen he believes he is offered to walk Hank back to town to get him aid. Firehand quickly pulled rank and reminded Sigurd he worked for the Church of Sigmar at this time and would need to stay at the mine in case of Danger. The two guards escorted Hank back to town while the group entered the mine. The group quickly discovered that Hank's story didn't quite add up, and the mine was in fact infested with the undead. Other than Firehand who has fought the undead numerous times as a Witch Hunter, they seem to handled seeing their friends risen from the grave fairly well, and at no point were concerned that the undead had risen. The quickly went to work against the foul creatures. Firehand knowing how to fight the wretched things quickly set a powerful bonfire to draw the creatures in. Llethwyn wasting no time transformed into a massive brown bear and barrelled through the raging fire and saved the zombies from getting burned, while Sigurd and Ceru tactfully withdrew. With one zombie down Llethwyn let out a roar that would intimidate an ancient dragon, which seemingly had no effect over the fearless undead. With more of the undead drawn in by the bears roar the group became surrounded. Sigurd broken the enemy line with a brilliant manuever and hoped into an abandoned mine cart and rode down several zombies one of which was none other than Hank Scorpio. Sigurd quickly chopped off the mans head to show Firehand that he killed Hank. While Ceru and Firehand planned to secure the flanks by lighting some grease on fire. While awaiting for the dextrous shambling corpses to fall in the grease, Llethwyn took off into the dark after hearing something faintly in some direction further in the mine. Firehand, Ceru, and Sigurd defeated the hoard that they were upagainst, meanwhile Llethwyn used tactics rarely seen in the desert land of Calimshan and lied down on the group and began munching on the zombie ankles, slowly making them shorter and shorter so he could devour their heads.   With the group barely alive after the encounter they proceeded to exit the mine to find the two guards who escorted Hank back to Dace, dead and raised as Zombies. The next morning the group returned to Dace. Firehand released Ceru and Sigurd back into the supervision of the militia, and requested scribes from the church to be sent to help put some pieces together. Llethwyn fell unconscious from his concussion and woke up in the home of a couple in search of their daughter Hameeda. Sigurd was offered a deal for his crimes, while Ceru made contact with a messenger from Memnon asking about a man named Arthur Coldfire……
