The Scarlet Crusade

The Scarlet Crusade was founded in 1500 DR, when Imperius a devout follower of Lythander received what he believed was a message from his God urging him to found a new order to continue the banishing of Fiends from the Material Plane. With what gold he had accumulated during his campaign in the Underdark he set out to the west to found the The Scarlet Crusade. Imperius searched for several years, all the while increasing his following, and recruiting able, willing devout soldiers to his cause. It was in the year 1508 DR that The Scarlet Crusade found their home in the City of Strathome, which contained a large stone building the Crusade uses as their holy Cathedral from which they set their battle plans. In the years that followed the Crusade expanded and continue to expand their reach from their home in Strathome near the Sword coast and as far south as Amn, but Imperius' plans for the order are to be able to reach all of Faerun.

The Scarlet Crusade and the Church of Sigmar have known only times of friendship. While the Order of Sigmar focus' on the eradication of all that is evil from Undead to fiends, to the corrupted of the world. The Scarlet Crusade has a more focused goal in removing the fiends that escape the lower planes, and attempt to reek havoc on the material plane.
