Lumiere Strand

Lumiere Strand is a relatively small city compared to the seats of other Aestaran nobles, but is one more richly dressed than many. On the shore of the Sea of Echoes, Lumiere Strand is named for its crystal smooth waters that reflect the lights of the night sky and seasonal auroras perfectly. It is also the city that Lumiere Quartz are named after, a crystal that takes light and stores it internally, allowing for grand chandeliers, bright jewelry and other ornamentation to be made from it. The crystal mined from around Lumiere Strand is so popular among the rest of the nobility that it's regional noble, Lord Dagobert Levette, is among the richest of nobility regardless of his lands' location and low fertility.   The lands around Lumiere strand are known as the Aestaran Wastes and were once mostly taiga forests, but rampant deforestation over the decades turned much of the land into a vast, cold swampland that is difficult to farm without proper infrastructure.

Infrastructure

Main roadways through Lumiere Strand are lit by their namesake crystals in lamps that hang along the streets rather than firelight. Some wealthy light their homes with it. And a large crystal window sits atop the lord's manor at its peak. The light of the city can be seen from miles away like a drifting fog that blankets it.

Guilds and Factions

A Nightingale Nest exists within the city and is practically welcomed by the lord, much to the Ministry's displeasure. Members of Nordic clans from the lands of Binordheim are hired as mercenaries to deal with the rampant banditry within the Wastes, collect taxes, and any number of other jobs that need an indelicate hand.
