Military action

3114

An early morning in the spring of 1414ac a fire can be seen from the borders of the Nakisha forest The war have arrived at the border of the elves, they finally agree to unite against a common enemy. The dwarfs joins the alliance 1 year later and slowly but surely, they pushes the orcs back. Finally, in 1416 the combined troops of humans, elves and dwarfs take the first step into the northwestern region of Arthelion, which in more than 10 years had been in belonging of the orcs. What they find is a changed land, the very soil and wild life is changed, the ground is dying, the animals are larger and more brutal than ever before, and the very air seems dryer and toxicating. The army marches toward the center of the region, and what they find was shocking to most, they found the city, once known as Ravencrest, not in ruins, but sparkling with life, orcs were living in the city, once belonging to humans. A loud horn can be heard, and the orc villagers are seen running away, in the other direction, the orcs had spotted the approaching army! What happened next was chaos, a warzone, where thousands of troops fought one another, the orcs held their ground, this was their last frontier.         The orcs held the front, as long as they could but though they were bigger and stronger, the sheer numbers were against them, and the city was surrounded. The orcs were getting desperate; some began to run toward the houses inside the city to find their families, others stood fast, while some even began to drop their weapons. It was here that a loud shout could be heard, and an even larger orc pushed through the fleeing orcs, it was the war chief Gunaakt, the leader of the orcs, he assaulted the front lines of the Alliance and pierced right through it, it was as if steel weapons had no effect on him. As he approached the wall of soldiers he grabbed his giant double-bladed axe and sliced through all opponents he saw. It is said that it took more than 200 soldiers to finally bring him down, and when he died, the orcs were silent, never did they expect Gunaakt to be defeated, a single orc approached the leading commanders at the front of the battlefield. He told them that without Gunaakt they had no meaning in this fight, they only wanted to live, never to fight like this.   The alliance, and particular the humans who lost their land, accepted the orcs surrender and were indeed merciful that day, they allowed the orcs to stay on Arthelion and live in this region as they saw fit, for the humans feared the soil would never be as it once were. If mercy was the right decision, time will tell.
